What are the Physical Symptoms of the Disease?

People with Sickle Cell have an abnormal kind of hemoglobin, hemoglobin S.
  • Sickle shaped red blood cells, allow the blood cells to easily attach themselves to other ones, creating clots.
  • These clots lead to circulation problems and tissues not getting enough oxygen.
  • Sickle cell blood cells carry less oxygen so they die faster than normal blood cells.
